THE WORLD PEASHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP!
The World Pea Shooting Championship has been held in Witcham village in Cambridgeshire, England since 1971. It was started by John I. Tyson, headmaster of Witcham village's school, as a fundraising idea. Ever since, locals and people from all over the world travel here to compete in the championship. The day is full of traditional features including novelty games, cream teas and a barbecue. In honor of Mr. Tyson, who passed away in 2003, the champions get to have their name recorded on the John Tyson Shield.
